George Dombek is an acclaimed watercolor artist and winner of numerous awards, including Arkansas Arts Council’s Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition to paintings, he offers more accessible giclee prints of most of his work and had a legacy website with embedded Paypal buttons to sell them. We were contracted to design and execute a “soft sell” e-commerce site that featured Mr Dombek’s incredible art, and architecturally significant Studio located in Goshen, Arkansas.
We tweaked WooCommerce using a child theme (of course) that maintains the client’s upgrade path, and customized an appropriate responsive theme to feature the artwork. Site performance is optimized using W3 Total Cache, with images and other static content pushed to a Content Delivery Network on Amazon S3. We also locked down the site security with Wordfence, and integrated the site with Google Analytics.
The project, from initial requirements to launch, took over a year.
