Desmo Studio’s principal was the co-founder, President and CTO of KTMtwins.com from 2005-2013. The business was an industry leader in parts and accessories for KTM Motorcycles with 33,000 organic site visits per month and $1.8M in revenue in 2013. The site launched in 2005 on Yahoo Stores, and we moved it to a Magento platform in 2011 that was more in line with Web 2.0, utilizing optional user registration for wishlists, order tracking, profiling and contemporary social networking interaction. The Magento administrative CMS is much more robust than Yahoo Stores, and is technically a much more capable platform than Yahoo Stores. A Rackspace Content Delivery Network and Magento-optimized host was leveraged for performance.
In 2012 a mobile-optimized theme was integrated, allowing shopping from both desktop and mobile devices.
The website is integrated with the HLSM Powersports Online Microfiche which allows visitors to shop for detailed motorcycle/powersports parts by microfiche and add them to the Magento cart. We offer this integration as an add-on Magento extension
Under our watch the site was PCI DSS Compliant which kept both the merchant bank and the customers happy.
